However, in the construction of railway tracks, large-scale operating tools cannot avoid mistakes during the construction process. Therefore, in order to ensure the construction quality of railway tracks and facilitate the smooth operation of trains on the tracks, and thus protect the lives of the people, the laying and replacement of sleepers has become increasingly important.

Conventional manual sleeper replacement has low efficiency, high cost, time-consuming and labor-intensive, and it is difficult to ensure the progress of the project; for this reason, our company has developed and modified a dual-purpose sleeper replacement machine for public and railway to solve the problems of difficult sleeper replacement and low efficiency. Using an excavator as the chassis, adding a steel guide wheel system and a hydraulic system to the front and rear of the excavator, so that the excavator equipment can move freely on the railway track without damaging the rails, has become a new productivity. The forearm is equipped with a specially made slag plate and a pillow clamp, which makes it very convenient to clamp the sleepers for replacement, and can remove and backfill the sleepers and stones under the rails, greatly improving the speed and quality of sleeper replacement. The railway sleeper replacement machine modified by our company has passed the scientific and technological achievement evaluation. The product of this project has reached the domestic leading level in the construction technology of highway and railway dual-use, and has also found a breakthrough for the mechanized construction of railways, making great contributions to the development of my country's railways.
